Stress and Addiction Group

June 3 @ 4:00 pm-5:20 pm

The Stress and Addiction group is a process-oriented group that helps clients develop social skills, stress management, and self-awareness via peer interaction, support, and feedback.

Members learn that they are not alone in their suffering and foster a supportive community that will allow them to gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behavior; thus, will guide them toward a more fulfilling life.

This group is best suited for those struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma-related issues in addition to chemical dependence and/or other addiction, which can be defined as a coping strategy that has stopped working and is potentially life-threatening. The group supports clients who are abstinence-based as well as harm-reduction-focused. We also welcome those who are ambivalent and just want support around their change process. In essence, we focus on the underlying drivers of unhealthy, possibly harmful, coping strategies to create a new way of managing life and its difficulties.

Facilitated by:  Julie Sauber, PsyD & Alex Del Prete, PsyD #PSB94027697 Clinical supervisor Matt Blagys, PhD #21802
