Welcome Alison May, MD

We are excited to welcome Dr. Alison May as the newest psychiatrist on our team. Dr. May earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from Harvard University, completed her residency in psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and served as an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at UCSF. She was also a staff psychiatrist at the San Francisco VA hospital, where she provided care for veterans for 15 years. She is board-certified in general adult psychiatry and has years of experience addressing a wide range of psychiatric conditions. Dr. May is committed to helping patients achieve mental and emotional well-being through thoughtful, personalized care.

Dr. May specializes in treating complex mental health challenges, including career and academic stress, parenthood, cancer, homelessness, and LGBTQ+ topics. Her approach emphasizes building strong connections with patients and integrating mental health care with overall health.

Welcome Laureen Turner Worden, MS, PhD!

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Turner Worden to our clinic as the Assistant Clinical Director. Dr. Worden brings extensive experience in counseling psychology, clinical supervision, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Her addition strengthens our team’s ability to provide effective, patient-focused care.

Dr. Worden holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and two Master’s degrees, alongside advanced clinical training at Shands Teaching Hospital at the University of Florida. She has worked in various settings, including residential treatment centers, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and private practice, helping individuals address a wide range of mental health challenges.

Most recently, Dr. Worden served as Clinical Director at Reflections Treatment Center, overseeing residential programs as well as IOP/PHP services. Her therapeutic approach integrates leading research and methods such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Worden has a strong background in training and mentoring therapists. She has supervised students and professionals at multiple levels, taught courses on counseling skills, and worked in an APA-accredited training program to support the development of future clinicians.

As Assistant Clinical Director, Dr. Worden will help enhance our clinical programs and ensure that our team is equipped to meet the unique needs of every patient. Her knowledge and leadership will directly benefit both patients and staff, contributing to the high standard of care we strive to maintain.
