Our Training

This interactive program will provide guidance and best practices for mental health providers to assess a client’s need for higher levels of care, including comprehensive assessments, professional collaboration, and integrated therapeutic services that promote clinical and personal stabilization and growth.

At the end of the program, participants will be better able to:

  • Use specific assessment skills and therapeutic collaboration to identify a client’s need for a higher level of care and stabilization
  • Apply criteria for appropriate levels of care in planning a comprehensive treatment plan
  • Explain to patients and families about comprehensive mental health assessments, higher levels of care, and the clinical approach
Our Presenters
Matt Blagys
Matt Blagys, PhD is the Clinical Director of Mind Therapy Clinic and a psychologist. He completed a four-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Austen Riggs Center, specializing in working with ‘treatment resistant clients’ – individuals experiencing highly complex psychiatric or substance abuse problems and chronic suicidal ideation who have struggled to benefit from traditional mental health or substance abuse treatment.
Matt Baity
Matt Baity, PhD is a professor in the Clinical Psychology Program at Alliant International University. He received his doctorate from the University of Arkansas and served as staff psychologist at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Dr. Baity has extensive training in personality and neuropsychological assessment, and the co-author of Clinical Applications of the Personality Assessment Inventory.
Mark Schiller
Mark Schiller, MD is the founder of Mind Therapy Clinic where he serves as Medical Director. He treats a broad range of difficult-to-treat psychiatric disorders such as treatment-resistant depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, bipolar and eating disorders as well as addiction and attention deficit disorders.
