Webinar- Helping Clients Get the Change They Want: Co-Constructing Goal Building Conversations

Our Training

Through the use of goal building conversations, this training will focus on guiding effective treatment, especially in time-sensitive formats. Participants will receive tools that tap into clients’ agency and strengths to mobilize change quickly. Informed by research on therapeutic efficacy and positive outcomes, positive psychology and self-efficacy theory, this training will demonstrate how to host conversations that outline well-formed goals and promote progress from the first session.

About Our Presenter, Ethan Schwartz, PhD

Dr. Ethan Schwartz is a licensed psychologist who has worked in university counseling centers, community mental health clinics, and the Kaiser Permanente HMO setting. He has presented at national and state psychology conventions and taught courses on positive psychology and happiness, the psychology of peak performance, and managing multiple life roles. He provides APA approved continuing education classes on the research proven habits of effective therapists and providing strength-based therapy. He pursued the ingredients of effective therapy as a graduate student researcher conducting outcome studies on therapy treatments and as a psychologist trained to utilize specific tools and therapeutic techniques designed to demonstrate positive outcomes. He has maintained a private practice since 2006. Before entering professional psychology he was an Outward Bound instructor and has been an avid outdoor athlete for more than 30 years.

Continuing Education

Teachings are appropriate for healthcare professionals as well as the general public. Healthcare professionals will be able to incorporate the tools and practices offered in this program in ways beneficial to clients or patients.

  • CE credits for psychologists are provided by the Spiritual Competency Resource Center (SCRC) which is co-sponsoring this program. The Spiritual Competency Resource Center is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Spiritual Competency Resource Center maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

  • The California Board of Behavioral Sciences accepts CE credits for LCSW, LPCC, LEP, and LMFT license renewal for programs offered by approved sponsors of CE by the American Psychological Association.

  • LCSWs, MFTs, and other mental health professionals from states other than California need to check with their state licensing board as to whether or not they accept programs offered by approved sponsors of CE by the American Psychological Association.

  • SCRC is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN Provider CEP16887) for licensed nurses in California.

Mind Therapy Clinic Pre-Paid Training Event Refund Policy:

The deadline to receive a refund for pre-paid Mind Therapy Clinic training events is three business days (72 hours) before the event.

Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund. Refunds will not be available for registrants who choose not to attend an event. Cancellations will be accepted (in writing) via email and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline. All refund requests must be made by the attendee or credit card holder. Refund requests must include the name of the attendee and/or transaction number. Refunds will be issued by check.
