Alison May, MD
Alison May, MD earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from Harvard University and completed her residency in psychiatry at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She is board-certified in general adult psychiatry.
After residency, Dr. May joined the faculty at UCSF as Associate Professor of Psychiatry. She supervised psychiatry residents and was staff psychiatrist at the San Francisco VA hospital for 15 years. She has worked in various primary care and private practice settings, integrating mental health with overall health. Dr. May has experience with the full spectrum of psychiatric conditions.
Above all, Dr. May values making human connection, and she has enjoyed working with a wide variety of issues, including career and academic stress, parenthood, cancer, extensive hospitalizations, homelessness, and LGBTQ+ topics. She stays current with cutting-edge mental health treatments and is proficient in managing complex pharmacology.
