Mark Schiller, MD, DFAPA

Founder, Medical Director, Psychiatrist

Dr. Schiller is a Yale and University of Chicago trained psychiatrist with extensive clinical, research, and leadership experience in the treatment of complex psychiatric conditions.  His research in conjunction with a number of innovative companies focused on the use of imaging technologies to predict medication response in difficult to treat depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).  He has practiced in a wide range of settings, including several notable San Francisco Bay Area residential addiction treatment facilities, where he furthered his expertise in the management of substance use disorders and pursued his interest in addiction psychiatry.

Currently, Dr. Schiller continues his focus on addiction treatment at Mind Therapy Clinic, integrating evidence-based medication management with individualized therapeutic strategies to address the unique challenges of recovery. His clinical practice also encompasses treatment-resistant depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, eating disorders, and adult attention-deficit disorder.  In addition, he leads the Clinic’s transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) practice.

Dr. Schiller has served as Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCSF prior to founding Mind Therapy Clinic, where he has championed coordinated, high-quality, multidisciplinary care. His commitment to cohesive treatment models was driven by early frustrations with fragmented care systems, inspiring him to create a center that integrates innovative and alternative approaches within a unified framework.

He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, an honorary distinction recognizing psychiatrists who have made significant contributions to the field. Known for his ability to listen deeply, synthesize scientific research, and apply clinical insight, Dr. Schiller brings both rigor and compassion to his work with patients.  He is also a member of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the Clinical TMS Society.
