Welcome Julie Vaccaro, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist!

Julie Vaccaro, AMFT, is an intern at the Mind Therapy Clinic. She received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. Prior to working at MTC, Julie worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator for 6 years at UCSF, leading research studies in the fields of mindfulness, insomnia, and stress. Her recent clinical experiences include facilitating mindful parenting groups and practicing as a counselor at Mission High School in San Francisco, where she worked with Spanish-speaking populations. Additionally, she has worked with patients who struggle with trauma, relational issues, depression, and anxiety.

In her practice, Julie uses an integrative approach to wellness, understanding clients’ presenting concerns through the lens of their early life experiences. She teaches practical coping skills using Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). When working with clients, she is committed to a person-centered approach, practicing empathy and a non-judgmental stance, creating a caring and meaningful relationship with the client to facilitate further healing. In her free time, Julie enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking, and reading.
