It is well-known knowledge that the medical field notoriously lacks focus on women’s health, making it unsurprising that the mental health sector shares this same deficiency.
As a woman, you are keenly aware of the scarcity of resources and the specific mental health challenges that women encounter. These unique challenges include premenstrual, perinatal, and perimenopausal-related disorders, leading women to be twice as likely to experience depression, anxiety, and PTSD compared to men. These disparities are driven by biological, hormonal, societal, and environmental stressors, including gender-based violence.

On May 19th, Mind Therapy Clinic will host an inaugural webinar on women’s mental health, focusing on the connection between life transitions and psychiatric issues faced by women caused by hormonal shifts. Our own Rachel Gluck, M.D., will lead the discussion exploring mental health considerations, including tips and helpful resources. Dr. Gluck is a board-certified general psychiatrist who has completed specialized training in addiction psychiatry and advanced training in reproductive and integrative psychiatry. She is also one of the very few psychiatrists in the country with sub-specialty training in reproductive psychiatry as well as addiction.
