Taming Anxiety Group for Teens

September 8 @ 12:00 am

Stop worrying about what you can’t control, shift your energy to what you can.

Being a teenager comes with a rollercoaster of emotions – excitement, fear, self-doubt, joy, and everything in between. For many, anxiety is a big part of that experience. Whether it’s a persistent undertone or intense moments that feel overwhelming, anxiety can interfere with sleep, friendships, school, and confidence. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, many teens have reported an increase in worry, stress, and pressure – and it’s no wonder. This group offers a supportive space for teens ages 14–18 to explore their emotional world and develop tools for understanding and managing their emotions and anxiety. Together, we will:

  • Understand what anxiety is and why it shows up.
  • Explore how emotions, thoughts, and behaviors are connected.
  • Learn practical ways to cope with worry and physical symptoms (like racing hearts or restlessness).
  • Build skills for handling self-doubt, insecurity, social stress, and fear of failure.
  • Reflect on how social media and online life affect self-esteem and emotional health.

This group is a great fit for teens who struggle with overthinking, avoid social situations due to anxiety, lose sleep from worry, or feel stuck comparing themselves to others. The goal is to help teens feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally resilient as they move through life’s challenges.
