My desire to work as a summer intern at Mind Therapy Clinic stemmed from my fascination with psychology as a field and as a potential career path. I hoped to gain preliminary experience in the mental health field to determine whether a career in psychology would be a good fit for me. Thanks to my time at Mind Therapy Clinic, my questions were answered. The hands-on nature of my work at E Street and the valuable interactions I had with the clinicians on staff provided me with incredible insight into the day-to-day functioning of a mental health team. I learned how to support clients during moments of distress, sadness, and suffering by listening to them and validating their struggles. I also learned how to identify and make note of important clinical information during my interactions with clients, allowing me to efficiently communicate with members of clinical teams. My work at Mind Therapy Clinic has not only confirmed my initial interest in the field of psychology but has also equipped me with the information and tools required to continue working with confidence in the mental health field.
